The Duty Free World Council Academy was created in 2019. The Academy is a not for profit organisation and is dedicated to raising standards throughout the duty free and travel retail industry through the provision of industry bespoke training programmes.
A broad section of industry expertise from some of the leading retailers and brands, across all major product categories, plus global perspectives from the DFWC and TFWA inform the type of courses we offer and provide unrivalled oversight of content relevancy and accuracy.
The Academy works with its partners ACI World Training and best in class course designers to ensure our training delivers quantifiable and actionable learning outcomes.
As a not for profit organisation, we provide a mix of free of charge and paid courses, in several languages, to the industry, and we are grateful to both Academy and course sponsors who enable us to do so.
Our courses are relevant to everyone involved in the duty free and travel retail industry, and also to those in related industries which are commercially linked with it. Our courses are not designed to replace in house training provided by employers but to compliment such training by providing a holistic view of our global industry for those wishing to develop their careers in our industry, to raise standards, and increase retention.
The Academy created the DFWC Academy China to offer courses in Mandarin Chinese, with a dedicated team in China who provide 24/7 assistance. https://www.dfwca.cn
The Academy’s programme will grow over time to provide courses for senior management levels and will provide masterclasses on specific topics of interest.
